The job requires managing personnel as well as the systems that support operations, planning, costing, and execution of system upgrades and all aspects of system security. Oversees managing the server, network and application management, deployment, maintenance and accessibility. Secondary responsibilities include helpdesk support case management, resolution and tracking. Additional responsibilities include user, hardware and software provisioning, refresh and management.Essential Duties & Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned:Effectively manage staff duties and performance. Administrative duties include managing schedules, conducting performance reviews and assisting with new employee onboarding and training.Manage and prioritize the IT team’s workload, tracking requests and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within established timelines.Manage the IT infrastructure and core technology systems.Maintain and create systems within a VMware vSphere virtual infrastructure.Monitor and support critical network services includingDNS, DHCP and Email Maintain and monitor the connectivity to MPLS sites & off-site networks, including the Internet Maintain and coordinate the security of the company computer network Automating system administration tasks using various scripts, macros, and programming languagesResearch, evaluate, and recommend hardware, software, and technology solutions to meet business requirementsManage software licensing and subscriptions, ensuring compliance while monitoring and optimizing costs for systems, tools, and services.Manage user accounts, permissions, and role-based access control across enterprise systems.Audit and analyze system logs to identify potential issues, security concerns or performance problemsPerform and maintain system backups and restoration processes to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.Install and configure new hardware and software solutionsMaintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and infrastructure architecture.Troubleshoot any reported problems and system performance tuningResponsible for administration of various SaaS cloud-based solutions such asGoogleApps and ZenDeskProvide technical support and respond to end-user helpdesk requests, resolving issues in a timely manner.Design, implement, and maintain enterprise firewall architectures and network security controlsLead regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing initiatives to identify and remediate security gapsDevelop and enforce system hardening standards across all infrastructure to minimize attack surfaceImplement data protection strategies for proprietary, confidential, and regulated information assetsAnalyze IT service delivery metrics (ticket response times, resolution rates, system uptime) to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous operational enhancementsBuild, configure, and manage laptop and desktop hardware across the organization, establishing standardized imaging and provisioning workflowsQualifications & Experience (Required):5–8 years of System Administration experience in an environment supporting 200+ users.Strong experience with VMware vSphere virtual infrastructure.Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory, including user account management, Group Policy (GPO) administration, and directory services.Working knowledge of Cisco networking and TCP/IP protocols.Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical documentation skills.Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required to support business operations.Leadership & Management RequirementsMinimum of three years of leadership experience in roles such as Supervisor, Team Lead, Director, or other management positions.Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead teams, manage priorities, and achieve organizational goals and objectives.Proven experience in leadership through formal management roles or progressive responsibility and promotions within previous organizations.Qualifications (Preferred):Experience with EMC storage and backup solutions.Experience implementing Windows logon/logoff automation.Scripting or basic programming experience using PowerShell, PowerCLI, or similar automation tools.Relevant professional certifications such as VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA, Veeam, CompTIA, or equivalent.Experience with Linux system administration, including management of core services and LAMP (or similar) stacks.Experience with Ubiquiti networking systems and infrastructure.Experience working within an Agile or Agile-inspired IT environment.We are interested in every qualified applicant who is eligible to work in the U.S. We may in our discretion provide visa sponsorship on a selective basis.If you have these skills and experience, we encourage you to apply!
