PAYROLL CLERK

For more than 40 years, our General Engineering Construction business, based in San Diego County, CA, has proudly served various agencies. We specialize in underground sewer and water installation. Our experienced professionals have completed numerous projects, leveraging our skilled staff and specialized equipment. ISO: An enthusiastic and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team. The perfect candidate will have a passion for numbers, experience in payroll processing, and a solid grasp of labor and prevailing wage laws. RESPONSIBILITIES: Collect 60-80, calculate and process employee Timecards. Ensure payroll taxes and other deductions are accurately processed. Reconcile payroll data to the general ledger. Respond to inquiries from employees about payroll-related issues. Research, analyze, and resolve discrepancies. Prepare and process weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports. Assist with payroll-related duties, such as benefits administration and onboarding new hires. Maintain knowledge and compliance with prevailing wage laws, federal, state, and local regulations. Develop and maintain productive professional relationships with employees and departments. Remain up to date with payroll best practices, trends, and processes. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred A working knowledge of LCP Tracker, DIR eCPR, PRISM & navigating and understanding DIR PW determinations. Working knowledge or certified payroll and labor compliance is preferred. General understanding of the various disciplines and procedures utilized by the Construction industry.
