Through precision engineering and purpose-driven innovation, we're helping take aerospace technology to new heights - and we're looking for talented individuals who want to be part of that journey.OVERVIEW OF POSITION:The CNC Machinist for our team is responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines using Fanuc and Siemen Controllers, including 3 and 5 axis. They will perform high quality-low volume machining of metal, composite, and graphite parts in an Aerospace Production environment. They are responsible for selecting and mounting tooling, determining feed and operating speeds, performing cut-off, trimming, counter sinking, drilling, and checking parts for dimensional accuracy. The Machinist must demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of blueprints, shop math, and the ability to transfer files from a computer to a numeric controller.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Set up and operate production machine tools.Select and mount appropriate tooling for machining operations.Determine the appropriate feed and operating speeds for efficient machining.Perform cut off, trimming, counter sinking, drilling, and other machining operations.Verify the dimensional accuracy of machined parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand machining requirements.Utilize shop math skills to perform calculations and ensure accurate machining processes.Transfer computer files to the numeric controller to initiate machining operations.Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure proper functioning.Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and timelines.Identify and communicate any issues or concerns regarding machine performance or product quality.Maintain accurate documentation of machining operations, including production logs and inspection records.Stay updated with the latest machining techniques, technologies, and industry trendsWork independently to prioritize and complete assigned tasks efficiently.Inspect finished parts for defects, imperfections, or deviations from quality standards.Report any issues or deviations to the supervisor or appropriate personnel.Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored after use.Follow all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations.GENERAL:High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years of machining experience.Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical diagrams.Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.Willingness to join and comply with union rules and regulations.Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
