Physical Therapist General Summary:The Physical Therapist is responsible for planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive physical therapy procedures and services designed to increase or restore function, minimize or prevent disability, and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is available for this position.Essential Job Functions*:Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for the knowledge base inherent in the role of Physical Therapist by performing all functions accurately and recognizing their importance and relationship to patient care and client servicesPractices Physical Therapy consistent with the American Physical Therapy Association's Code of Ethics and Standards of PracticeEvaluates the patient's level of function and areas in need of improvementDevelops a plan of care that is completed by the Physical TherapistDelegates patient care appropriately to Physical Therapy AssistantsConsiders age-specific needs in the evaluation process and in service deliveryInvolves patient/caregiver in development of plan of care, including discharge planning, to gain patient cooperation in gaining maximum benefit from therapeutic interventionTreats patients within their plan of care to relieve pain, and develop or restore function and maximum performance, using physical means such as exercise (making use of available equipment) and physical agent modalitiesAdjusts plan of care according to patients progress during course of treatmentFabricates and fits splints, braces and other adaptive equipment and trains patient/caregiver on useCoordinates physical therapy activities with other services, agencies and personnel involved in patient care managementParticipates in the supervision of designated personnel including Physical Therapy Assistants, students, and volunteersAssists with patient scheduling.Participates in clinics, conferences, and educational programs to increase knowledge and improve patient care and staff performanceResponsible for maintaining Continuing Education units for license renewalMust comply with relevant laws and regulations as they relate to the positionPerform other related duties incidental to the work described hereinComplies with hospital and departmental policies, procedures, regulations and standards as related to job.Demonstrates hospital's stated mission and values of teamwork, respect and communication with co-workers, patients, families and visitors.Actively and appropriately participates in problem-solving identification and resolution, both intra- and inter-departmentally.Meets department customer service standards and strives to enhance the level of customer service provided. Qualifications: EducationRequired: Graduation from accredited program in Physical Therapy Work ExperiencePreferred: Experience in orthopedics, acute care, home health and/or school programs Licensure/Certifications/RegistrationsRequired: Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the State of New Hampshire Current Basic Life Support (including use of an Automatic ExternalDefibrillator) certificationOther Skills/KnowledgeRequired: Knowledge of a range of therapy assessments, methods and techniquesPreferred: Ability to effectively communicate medical information, assessment results,
