Project Development Manager (Sales & Client Experience)
Job Summary
At Baker Builders, we believe exceptional homes begin with exceptional relationships. Since 1982, we've built our reputation on integrity, craftsmanship, and clear communication, and we're looking for someone who shares those values.
As a Project Development Manager, you'll become a trusted guide for homeowners as they explore, plan, and prepare for one of the biggest investments of their lives. You'll meet with clients, understand their goals, help develop project budgets, coordinate the planning process, and guide them confidently from their first conversation through a signed construction agreement.
This is not a high-pressure sales position. It's a relationship-focused role where listening, serving, communicating, and building trust are more important than "selling."
The most successful people in this role aren't necessarily the ones who know the most about construction—they're the ones who know how to work with people. We're looking for someone with exceptional people skills who naturally builds trust, listens first, communicates with confidence and empathy, and adapts their approach to different personalities. You enjoy guiding people through important decisions, handling difficult conversations with professionalism and respect, and keeping projects moving forward without making clients feel pressured.
You don't need to know everything about residential construction—we'll help teach you that. What we're looking for is someone who enjoys helping people, communicates exceptionally well, stays organized, and wants to build a long-term career. If you have basic construction knowledge, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to learn, we'll provide the systems, training, and support to help you succeed.
What You'll Do
Build lasting relationships with prospective homeowners from their first conversation through a signed construction agreement.
Meet with clients to understand their vision, goals, lifestyle, and budget.
Guide clients through the planning, design, budgeting, and decision-making process.
Coordinate project information with our internal team, trade partners, designers, and suppliers.
Prepare project proposals, budgets, and construction agreements using our proven systems and processes.
Keep clients informed through clear, proactive communication.
Ensure every project is organized and well-prepared before handing it off to our Production team.
Represent Baker Builders with professionalism, integrity, and a genuine desire to serve others.
You'll Probably Enjoy This Role If You...
Love helping people and building genuine relationships.
Have exceptional people skills and enjoy working with a wide variety of personalities.
Communicate confidently, professionally, and with empathy.
Enjoy solving problems and keeping details organized.
Take pride in following through on commitments.
Are coachable, humble, and eager to learn.
Have some residential construction knowledge—or a strong interest in learning more.
