Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray)
We are currently seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating orthopedic conditions. This role also includes significant patient-facing administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and general patient support within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.The ideal candidate is flexible, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced outpatient orthopedic environment while effectively balancing clinical imaging duties with front-office responsibilities.Location: Allentown, PAWork hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pmDepartment: Orthopedic Imaging / X-RaySalary range: $30.00-35.00/hr. - depending on your level of experienceReports To: Office ManagerEmployment Type: Full-Time (Some travel to satellite locations may be required)Key Responsibilities:Clinical Imaging DutiesPrepare and position patients for diagnostic X-ray proceduresAdjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal imaging viewsExplain procedures clearly to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperationSelect exposure factors and operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic imagesApply radiation safety and protection techniques for patients and staffReview images for accuracy, quality, and proper identificationPrepare and transmit images for radiologist or physician interpretationPatient Care & Administrative DutiesGreet, direct, and assist patients and visitors in a professional mannerSchedule patient appointments using electronic medical record systemsComplete accurate patient registration and verify insurance informationCoordinate referrals and resolve insurance-related issues as neededCollect co-pays and outstanding balances and reconcile daily cash reportsAnswer phone calls promptly and professionallyDocument patient interactions accurately in the EMRProcess medical records requests and disability formsAssist with coverage at satellite locations as needed Qualifications:RequiredARRT certification (Registered Radiologic Technologist)Completion of an accredited radiology program (Associate degree, hospital-based program, or equivalent)Ability to obtain and maintain required Pennsylvania clearances:Criminal Background CheckChild Abuse History ClearanceFBI Fingerprinting ClearanceStrong multitasking ability in a fast-paced clinical settingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer systemsAbility to lift, position, and assist patients weighing 100+ lbs when necessary Preferred1-2 years of radiologic technologist experience (new graduates welcome to apply)CPR/AED certificationPrior experience in orthopedic, urgent care, or outpatient imaging settingsBilingual (Spanish) communication skills a plus Skills & CompetenciesStrong patient care and customer service orientationHigh attention to detail and imaging accuracyAbility to remain calm and efficient in a high-volume environmentTeam-oriented with a flexible, "help where needed" mindsetStrong organizational and time-management skills Work EnvironmentThis is a fast-paced outpatient orthopedic clinic environment where efficiency, accuracy, and patient experience are top priorities.
