MANTECH seeks a highly skilled Lead Engineer to guide a dedicated, 6-person technical team supporting a critical MuleSoft-as-a-Service solution for an Intelligence Community (IC) customer located in Northern VA. You will serve as the primary technical authority for the lifecycle of a MuleSoft Private Cloud Edition (PCE) solution, including integration, testing, deployment and production sustainment. This position is located in Chantilly, VAAs the Lead Engineer, you will be a "player-coach," mentoring a team of API developers, an O&M/Kubernetes engineer, and a cybersecurity engineer. You will be directly responsible for the team's technical performance, leveraging your expertise in API-led connectivity, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps to ensure the stability, security, and rapid evolution of mission-critical enterprise integrations.Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToLead the design, build, test, and deployment of robust, reusable APIs and integrations connecting Salesforce, on-prem, cloud data sources and other SaaS platforms.Architect and implement a comprehensive framework for error handling, logging, and monitoring across all integrations.Oversee the management of the MuleSoft environment, including the installation and configuration of runtimes, load balancers, and VPC components.Ensure the creation and maintenance of all technical documentation for platform configurations and solutions.Lead the team in providing on-call Tier 2/3 help desk support for all Mulesoft PCE-related incidents and service requests.Direct proactive monitoring of Mulesoft PCE health, API traffic, and performance.Maintain the team's Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and lead participation in disaster recovery exercises, as needed.Minimum Qualifications8+ years of experience in enterprise IT and integration, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership capacity, supporting an IC customer8+ years of experience in a customer facing role supporting an IC customer5+ years hands-on experience working with Kubernetes5+ years hands-on experience programming in JavaExperience designing and building secure, robust, and reusable APIs using API-led connectivity principles3+ years of experience leading teams that use Agile (Scrum) methodologies5+ years of experience integrating DevSecOps practices (e.g., CI/CD, automated testing, code analysis)Experience supporting the RMF/ATO process within the ICPreferred QualificationsMuleSoft Certified Platform Architect or Integration ArchitectHands-on knowledge of the MuleSoft Anypoint PlatformCertified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)Experience with Salesforce integrationFamiliarity with ITIL foundationsFamiliar with NIST SP 800-53, SSPs, and POA&MsClearance RequirementsMust have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
