Drafting Manager - Architectural Cladding & Facade Systems

*Job Overview* Drafting Manager / Technical LeadBolton Cladding is seeking an experienced Drafting Manager / Technical Lead to lead and manage our drafting department. This person will be responsible for the complete drafting process, from reviewing architectural drawings and project information through the release of accurate, coordinated, fabrication-ready shop drawings. This is a leadership and technical position. We are looking for an experienced professional who can think critically, identify missing information, solve technical challenges, and develop practical solutions.Key Responsibilities Lead and manage our drafting team, including overseas drafters. Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements in detail. Identify missing information, conflicts, unclear conditions, and potential fabrication or installation issues. Develop and propose practical solutions based on project requirements and our fabrication and installation capabilities. Prepare and manage RFIs, clarifications, and technical questions when architectural information is incomplete or unclear. Participate in coordination calls and meetings with architects, engineers, general contractors, project managers, and other project stakeholders. Clearly communicate technical questions, proposed solutions, and detailing requirements during project coordination meetings. Follow up on outstanding questions and ensure clarifications are incorporated into the shop drawings. Research and coordinate details required to properly complete each project. Review all shop drawings before release to ensure they are accurate, complete, coordinated, and ready for fabrication. Ensure details, dimensions, panel layouts, returns, attachments, and other critical conditions are properly addressed. Work closely with operations, project management, production, and installation teams. Manage the workflow and workload of the drafting team to ensure projects move efficiently and deadlines are met. Create systems to measure drafting productivity, workload, turnaround time, and quality. Continuously improve the drafting process and find ways to reduce turnaround times without sacrificing quality. Set clear priorities and workflows rather than allowing each drafter to work independently without proper coordination. Train, mentor, and develop the drafting team. Take ownership of the department and ensure problems are identified and resolved before drawings are released Pay: $80,096.22 - $99,459.97 per year Work Location: In person
