Project Architect / Project ManagerLocation: Bismarck, North Dakota Employment Type: Full-TimeAn architectural firm is seeking an experienced Project Architect / Project Manager to join its Bismarck, ND office. This role requires a strong technical background, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and consistent involvement across all phases of architectural design and construction.The position is primarily office-based, with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule following an initial introductory period. Occasional travel within North Dakota is expected, along with project-related travel to South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Additional regional or national travel may occur as new projects are added.This role is well suited for a motivated professional who demonstrates attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and effective problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate works well in a collaborative, team-based environment and is able to communicate clearly and confidently with clients, consultants, and internal project teams.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with clients, consultants, and construction partners to define project requirements, goals, and deliverablesProduce architectural work from conceptual and schematic design through construction documentation and detailingCoordinate with multidisciplinary consultant teams throughout all phases of project developmentAssist in the development, monitoring, and management of project budgets and schedulesResearch materials, systems, and products and support the preparation of project specificationsEnsure all designs comply with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standardsFacilitate effective communication between clients, design teams, and construction teamsParticipate in construction administration, including submittal reviews, meetings, site observations, and documentationConduct quality control reviews to ensure compliance with project standards and firm best practicesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to architectural production staffRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Architecture, Design, or a related fieldEight (8) or more years of professional experience in architectural design and project managementDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and team members in a deadline-driven environmentStrong problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Revit and the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applicationsExperience using Bluebeam and Bluebeam Studio for documentation and project coordinationStrong knowledge of building assemblies, technical detailing, and building envelope systemsExperience delivering commercial projects, including participation in at least ten (10) projects with construction costs exceeding $2 millionAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
