Assignment Overview Shift: Rotating, 5x8hrs Hours: 40 hrs/wk Start Date: Feb 16, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Scrub Technologist with NBSTSA certification and at least one year of experience for a day shift position with call rotation. Details Position is in a surgical environment working under the direct supervision of a surgeon Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining sterile environments for invasive surgical procedures Day shift schedule with call rotation requirements Expected to work every other weekend if requested Fifty mile radius rule applies for local travelers Requirements Certificate or diploma from a trade or technical school in surgical technology Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) At least one year of prior surgical technologist experience preferred License required if applicable Must have an active state license if required Additional Information Responsibilities include scrubbing, gowning, and gloving for self, surgeon, and assistants Assists with supply and equipment checks, surgical instrumentation, and maintaining sterile technique Performs appropriate instrument and sponge counts with the circulator Assists with draping, passes instruments during procedures, and prepares surgical suites for subsequent cases Involved in terminal cleaning, sterilizing equipment, and training new staff and students in the Scrub Tech role Not permitted to function as a circulating nurse, first assistant, or to administer medications or complete patient records Holiday coverage may be required on recognized holidays May work a maximum of two consecutive 13-week assignments before a required 26-week break if returning Facility may call off or cancel up to three shifts per assignment due to low census or staffing changes
