Food Safety Management System Technical Manager
EAGLE is seeking a Food Safety Management System (FSMS) Technical Manager to manage tasks related to the auditor lifecycle and support audit activities and program development. The role includes ensuring auditor competence, developing and maintaining technical standards, managing certification assessment databases, maintaining assessment integrity, staying abreast of industry trends, and collaborating with other departments to deliver high‑quality certifications.
Responsibilities
Screening and evaluating new auditor candidates, including reviewing credentials, conducting interviews, and approving auditor contracts for service.
Managing, conducting, and reviewing witness audits associated with food standards.
Reviewing annual auditor performance and managing auditor development plans.
Assisting with the implementation of new or modified programs.
Handling appeals and complaints from food clients.
Completing EAGLE industry code and food sector category tasks.
Assisting with internal and external audits.
Managing auditor capacity in respective areas.
Providing technical support for quoting in the industry of expertise.
Working with other auditors, clients, and staff members to manage the audit process.
Developing and delivering training communications as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry.
A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a food‑related industry.
Working knowledge of GFSI Standards (FSSC, BRCGS, and SQF).
Must hold or be able to obtain an auditor credential in a GFSI Standard.
Travel required for trade shows, technical events, and auditor witnessing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and find compromises.
High‑level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database software.
Familiarity and experience with Management Systems.
For GFSI Programs, food production or processing experience and an understanding of HACCP principles.
Project management and task completion skills.
Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
Ability to manage multiple audit processes simultaneously.

Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 per year
