Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for night shifts in Virginia, requiring a VA or compact license and at least one prior travel assignment.
Details
Position is in the ICU of a hospital setting
Night shifts with 3x12 or optional 4x12 hour schedule
Every other weekend coverage required
Floats may be required to CVICU, CVSD, or Cardiac Tele as needed
Uses Epic EMR system; EPIC class assignment depends on prior experience
Requirements
Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of application
Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
Completion of at least one previous travel nursing assignment required
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Willingness to float to related critical care units or cardiac telemetry if needed
Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with medical or religious exemption available if compliant with CMS guidelines
COVID vaccination or valid exemption required
Smoke and nicotine free status required
Additional Information
Responsibilities include caring for critically ill patients and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams
All travelers must attend Epic training unless recently assigned to the facility
Modules for onboarding and orientation required, with hours depending on experience and specialty
Must work some holidays as assigned
Travelers who were previously employed by the facility must wait one year before returning
Requests for time off must be submitted up front and are approved at management's discretion
First-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
