Data Architect

Assessing the existing systems, data sources, and pipelines and developing a practical roadmap for the data architecture needed to support priority AI initiatives and business intelligence capabilitiesDesigning and managing data flows across the organization, ensuring data integrity, access, and seamless integration across systemsDesigning, implementing, and maintaining scalable data models, data stores, and pipelines to ensure efficient processing and transformation of structured and unstructured legal and business dataLeading efforts to make the data AI-ready by identifying and remediating data silos, creating unified and governed access to enterprise data across environments, and developing processes to clean, enrich, and structure the dataEstablishing standards and procedures for data governance, integration, quality control, and lifecycle management to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely dataDeveloping and maintaining architectural documentationCollaborating with stakeholders across business departments and functions, as well and practice group leadership, to drive data-driven initiatives, foster a data-driven culture, and ensure alignment with strategyEvaluating and recommending tools and technologies that support the data architecture frameworkCollaborating with leadership, IT, Information Security, and relevant stakeholders to identify and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, professional responsibility rules, client requirements, and security standardsQualificationsBS in Computer Science or a related field preferred 5-8+ years of experience in a data architecture or data engineering role, professional services environmentExperience designing and building solutions on cloud-based data platforms and services; substantial hands-on experience with AWS strongly preferredRelevant AWS, database, or cloud platform certifications are a plusExperience preparing enterprise data for AI use, including connecting data across systems and structuring information from documents and other unstructured sources so that it can be reliably used by AI applicationsAdvanced SQL and data modeling skillsStrong experience in designing, building, and maintaining data integration and pipelines across multiple systems and data sourcesExperience with BI/data visualization platforms, with Tableau experience strongly preferredDemonstrated experience designing and building production databases and data stores from the ground up, including relational database design and data modelingExperience integrating with APIs and working with structured and semi-structured data formats such as JSON and XMLWorking knowledge of Python for data engineering and automationExperience using Git or similar tools for source control and version managementAbility to work independently and exercise sound technical judgment in an evolving environment, while collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiencesFlexibility to adjust hours to meet operating and business needs
