This position will be in based in our Charleston, West Virginia office, but may support other regional offices as needed.Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:General management and oversight of multiple survey projectsFollow MM safety program for all staff, and promote safety standards of personnel and equipmentMeet with representatives related to the coordination of necessary work and compliance with permits and/or schedulesMaintain relationships with clients, business owners, and the public in project executionReceive general instructions regarding assignments and is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems.Review project schedule, progress and deliverables with those he/she will manage or supportOperate and maintain technical surveying instruments and measuring devices needed to complete different types of survey assignmentsPerform routine analysis to check applicability, accuracy, and reasonableness of dataConduct various types of survey activities including but not limited to:Reduce and plot survey dataParticipate in basic layout and field engineering activitiesConduct records researchCoordinate the findings of the work produced with engineering personnel, clients, and others concerned with the projectKeep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe work performedFamiliarity with current survey softwarePrepare and submit necessary permit applications for WVDOH, WVDNR, USACE, WVDEP etc as projects dictateObtain necessary rights of way and temporary construction easements as neededWe Invite Applications From Candidates With The Following ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering or similarAt least 5 years of experience in surveyingProfessional Surveyor (PS) license in WV preferred or able to obtain within a yearValid Driver’s LicenseAbility to walk and climb over rough terrain and withstand working outside for up to 8-12 hours in varying temperaturesMust possess manual dexterity with the physical ability to work in situations which require bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting/carrying items up to fifty (50) poundsMust be able to carry survey equipmentAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Protective eyewear, gloves, mask) and other safety equipment required by the company guidelines and proceduresThe Ideal Candidate Will Possess The FollowingAutoCAD, Microstation and/or ESRI software experienceStrong leadership skills, work ethic, and team-player attitudeStrong technical, documentation, and organizational skillsStrong communication skillsMust be authorized to work in the United StatesMust pass pre-employment physical, background check, and drug screenMust be willing to travelOur teams are comprised of bright and enthusiastic people who wish to make a difference to the world that we live in.
