Urgent Care Medical Assistant

Position: Urgent Care Medical Assistant Location: Snoqualmie, WA 98065 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10 hour shifts, rotating days and weekends 945am-8:00pm Clinic is open 7 days a week Guaranteed hours a week: 40 Job ID: 278322 OBJECTIVE SUMMARY: Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing and coding for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by a physician. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Interview patients to obtain current condition/complaint, measure vital signs, weight, and height Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician or provider Record patients’ medical history, social history, family history, and surgical history, and obtain outside medical records Performs related work as required for several specialty doctors including but not limited to Primary Care, Psychiatry, Behavioral Health, GI, Cardiology, Physiatry, Orthopedics, Geriatrics Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing and or transport Perform waived tests Perform quality controls for waived test kits Manage message in-box Make outbound calls to patients per physician or provider instructions Enter orders and referrals into the EMR per the physician or provider instructions JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma AND graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program Successful completion of a Medical Assisting externship or Less than 1 year of MA experience One year of on-the-job experience, preferred. MA-certification or MA-registration active with the State of Washington BLS certification - Required Staff must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.
