Managing Engineer - Data Security Engineering

For our client, we are seeking a Managing Engineer - Data Security Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.This role will lead a high-performing engineering team focused on protecting sensitive data and strengthening enterprise security controls. The position combines hands-on technical leadership with delivery ownership, guiding solutions from design through production support. You will work across engineering, security, and data stakeholders to advance scalable controls, automation, and operational reliability.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $120,000 – $195,000 annuallyResponsibilities Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on data security engineering Drive technical direction and oversee implementation from design through production support Provide hands-on leadership through coding and key technical decision-making Engineer capabilities in DLP, data intelligence, and data access controls Advance automated policy workflows and reusable control patterns Automate control lifecycle activities to ensure operational effectiveness Ensure reliability and continuous improvement of security controls and productsQualifications 5+ years of experience in software, data, or security engineering with production system ownership 2+ years of experience leading technical teams while remaining actively engaged in engineering work Strong expertise in data protection techniques such as DLP and data governance In-depth understanding of cloud and enterprise data protection architectures Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Python and Terraform Experience implementing version-controlled security solutions with policy as code Successful track record of automating manual administration processesBenefits Comprehensive technology setup including laptop and monitors Monthly connectivity reimbursement for remote work-related internet costs Work-from-home flexibility with specific requirements for workspace and internet reliabilityOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
