Responsibilities will include managing programs w/ budgets >$3M/year including planning, execution, and reporting to Internal & External Customers. In addition, the selected candidate will work with Army, Airforce, Navy, DARPA and other customers to seek & bid for new technologies and product development opportunities that are aligned with Honeywell’s strategic plansResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIESTeam Leadership and Team Building:Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Technical Leadership:Drive engineering team’s technical decisions, providing expertise and direction in the development of cutting-edge power technology solutions.Lead program adherence to technology development processes and phase gates Ensure the application of robust systems engineering principles throughout the project lifecycle.Programmatic Leadership:Oversee project execution to ensure deliverables are met within defined scope, schedule, and budget.Actively manage risks and address challenges to maintain project momentum and alignment with strategic objectives.Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and reports to communicate progress and facilitate decision-makingCollaboration and Communication:Maintain effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure project goals are understood and met.Facilitate collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to enhance project delivery and innovation.QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics. 15 plus years of electric power systems, including power generation, conversion, distribution and control design, analysis and testing experience including project management, Basic knowledge of gas turbine and integration with starter/generators Design & analysis experience by using modern methods (e.g. modeling and simulation) characterized by continuously increasing leadership & decision-making responsibility Strong knowledge of integration and testing for complex electric power systems integration and testing Must be a US person (US citizen or US permanent resident) due to US export control laws and regulations WE VALUE Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred, or Mechanical Engineering with proven record of electromechanical systems integration or equivalent M.Sc. in Engineering Technical expertise in Gas Turbine and/ or Electric Power Systems (Generation, Conversion, Distribution and Utilization Equipment) for development of new technologies Design for Six Sigma Certification Project Management including leadership, project initiation, planning, scheduling, cost management, control, and close-out skills Familiarity with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS)/ Process Specific skills in SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Verbal & Written Communication skills including presentation and documentation Persistent in the face of failure, confident in the face of ambiguity, innovative in the face of challenge, and relentless in the drive to success Demonstrated leadership capabilities working with all aspects of engineering, project, and customer management, along with supporting functional organizations . Skill to track key performance metrics for measuring improvements in engineering design quality and deliver, and ability to improve processes. Strong decision-making capability, even with information that is limited or ambiguous. Ability to drive development of a responsive organization, which consistently meets technical, schedule and budgetary commitments. Able to develop and deploy a high-performance team of engineers, mentors and coaches to maintain a high level of performance and employee satisfaction. Utilizes Six Sigma and program management tools as appropriate within the IPDS framework to effectively manage engineering projects. Prioritizes time and resources effectively.
