AP/AR Specialist

*East coast candidates only*Salary: $70-85k+ depending on experienceThe AP/AR Specialist will work directly with the Controller and CFO to manage day-to-day AP/AR processes, improve workflows, and bring structure to a fast-moving environment. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable operating in ambiguity and solving problems independently.Why This AP/AR Specialist Opportunity?100% remote role• Company has doubled in size over the last two years and expects to double again• Very entrepreneurial/startup environment with tons of visibility• Products have strong retailer buy-in • Mission-driven wellness/sensory products focused on helping people de-stress and disconnect from screens• Unlimited PTO structure• High-growth company while many others are in cost-cutting mode• Opportunity to come in and help build/improve processes from the ground upWhat you will do as an AR/AP Specialist:Accounts PayableProcess and manage accounts payable, including vendor invoice entry, coding, and payment executionCoordinate with China-based team to ensure accurate and timely invoice handlingReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepanciesAccounts Receivable & DeductionsApply cash and reconcile customer paymentsTrack, research, and resolve customer deductions (short pays, chargebacks, etc.)Maintain accurate AR aging and support collections efforts as neededSales Recording & Data ProcessingAssist in sales recording process, including invoice retrieval and upload of financial data into QuickBooksIdentify and resolve inconsistencies in source dataProcess ImprovementIdentify inefficiencies and implement improved workflows across AR/APHelp build scalable processes in a growing, evolving environmentSupport ad hoc reporting and data cleanup as neededCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with the Controller and CFO to ensure accurate and timely financial operationsCommunicate effectively across teams to resolve issues and improve workflowsPreferred Experience of the AP/AR Specialist:3–7+ years of experience in AP, AR, or a combined roleStrong working knowledge of QuickBooksStrong Excel skills (comfortable cleaning and structuring messy data)Experience in consumer, retail, or high-volume transactional environments is a plusAble to balance speed and accuracyComfortable working with incomplete or imperfect dataStrong problem-solving ability — able to figure things out without step-by-step guidanceSelf-starter who can operate independently in a remote setting
