Instructional Tutor - Degreed/Certified

Primary PurposeProvide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher.Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing student intervention groups.Qualifications:Requires a bachelor's degree and/or teacher certificationMajor Responsibilities And DutiesReviewing classroom topics and assignmentsWorking with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroomTeaching skills to improve academic performance, including strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questionsDemonstrating academic best practices for specific subjects and assignmentsConducting practice tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement and help set goalsProviding students positive and constructive feedbackOffering feedback to students' teachersBuilding meaningful connections with studentsRecognizing different learning styles and student preferencesDesigning differentiated learning goalsSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to assist in instructing reading and mathematicsAbility to work well with childrenAbility to communicate effectivelyEducational RequirementsBachelors DegreeTexas Teacher CertificationSupervisory Responsibilities: None
