Windows / Cloud Engineer
The Windows / Cloud Engineer is an infrastructure engineering role responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and deploying Windows-based and cloud/virtualized environments across multiple locations. The position provides 24×7×365 operational support, including some weekend work and on-call/pager coverage.
Core responsibilities
Windows infrastructure: Administer and support Microsoft Windows environments, including Active Directory, Citrix, Exchange, Skype Online, IIS, and Microsoft Cluster Services.
Virtualization & cloud: Support Nutanix, VMware, KVM, Hyper-V, AHV, Azure, AWS, and cloud-based workloads.
Operations: Perform routine maintenance, monitoring, deployments, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and capacity/performance reviews.
Automation: Create and maintain automation scripts, playbooks, and workflows using PowerShell, Ansible, Python, and Jinja2.
Projects: Support infrastructure projects and, at higher levels, participate in system design, architecture, deployment, and project leadership.
Documentation: Maintain accurate procedures, troubleshooting documentation, changes, and eventually SOPs and organizational standards.
Collaboration: Work with engineering teams, management, vendors, consultants, and less-experienced engineers.
Advanced engineering: At Levels III-V, the role expands into cloud/system design, performance tuning, clustering, security hardening, enterprise backup, process improvement, technical leadership, and SME responsibilities.
he Windows / Cloud Engineer position manages an environment of servers, on premises and cloud based, providing on-call 24x7x365 support, and some weekend work.
Windows-based OS specific duties include responsibility for knowledge of Windows Operating System using Microsoft Active Directory across multiple locations; installation, maintenance and administration of multiple virtual servers (Nutanix, VMware and Cloud); maintenance of a Citrix server environment and/or Messaging platforms (Exchange and Skype On-Line).
Responsible for configuration and administration of cloud-based workload and creating and maintaining automation scripts and workflows.

Working SNOW ticket from the Windows Server queue.
Working SNOW ticket from the Thread and Vulnerability ( OS, Office, ect. updates and patching) queue.
