Position Title : Children's Waiting Room Attendant Department : ProgramsStatus : Part-time (25 hours a week) Reports to : Programs Manager FLSA Status : Non-exempt Revision Date : 02/12/2026Location(s) – WBAMC and Mendoza Clinic Children's Waiting RoomBasic Job Description: Provide supervision to children (ages 6 months to 12 years old) whose parent/sibling(s) have medical appointments at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) or at Hugo V. Mendoza Family Care Center. Operating hours for the Children's Waiting Room are Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm at WBAMC and from 1pm – 4:30pm at Mendoza.Essential Duties: Program and Services Management Provide a variety of activities for infants to 12 years oldModel effective behavior for parents/guardians and volunteersInteract with children; provide a nurturing environmentCommunicate to Programs Manager and POC at Hospital any issues or concerns in CWRFollow all Child Abuse Reporting procedures when necessarySupervise all volunteersEnsure that all CWR policies are followedFacility Management Open and close the centerMaintain safe and clean child-watch areaEnsure new parents/guardians fill out proper registration forms and waiversEnsure each parent/guardian signs child in and outUpdate registration files and parent/guardian informationEnsure all records are kept locked in filing cabinet when not in useReport unsafe conditions to the Programs Manager and/or Executive DirectorProvide parent/guardian and Director with written incident or injury report involving any childClean all toys with Cavi Wipes or spray upon closing of centerEquipment Management Keep toys and equipment clean and sanitary and in good working conditionInform Administrative Assistant about needed suppliesOther Duties as assigned by Branch Programs ManagerQualifications: At least 18 years of age.Work experience with children.An understanding of military family challenges.Experience preparing and developing age-appropriate activities.*Reliable transportation is required for this position. * Military spouses, veterans and military affiliated job seekers encouraged to apply.Armed Services YMCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
