Employment Type: Part-time (29 hours per week)
Base Hourly: $16.31
Class/Calendar: A11, 9.25 months
Benefits: None
Performance Pay: Available annually
New Hire Experience: 1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum
New Hire Education: 1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position
Job Summary: To assist the resource center specialist in the organization and maintenance of the media center to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of services. To assist the front office in daily operations. Greeting visitors, students and parents, assisting as needed for various tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general clerical tasks and repairs of books and materials
Perform a variety of clerical tasks (e.g. typing, filing, copying, scheduling, etc) following standardized procedures in support of assigned personnel
Prepare instructional materials and documents for teachers following established guidelines
Assist in the daily recording and maintenance of student attendance records to ensure reliable data for district, state and federal reporting purposes
Assist in the registration of new students and withdrawal of students to provide reliable data for district, state and federal reporting purposes
Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
Regular and on-time attendance required
Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire OR pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge
High School education or equivalent

Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to organize and prioritize workload while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with students, teachers, parents and district personnel
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Inside a school library or resource center, which may include classrooms or computer labs
Frequent contact with students, teachers, and other school staff
Generally quiet, but may be louder during student visits or group activities
Ability to move around the library frequently; walking and standing for extended periods
Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and kneeling to shelve or retrieve books
May need to lift and carry boxes of books or supplies (typically up to 2540 pounds)
