Lower School Judaic Studies Teacher

Abraham Joshua Heschel School - Abraham Joshua Heschel School is seeking full-time experienced Judaic Studies teachers to teach Ivrit and Humash in our lower school division for the 2026-27 school year. We are looking for educators who bring warmth, intellectual curiosity, and a deep commitment to Jewish learning and Hebrew language instruction. The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable, pleasant, flexible, and hard-working professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.Responsibilities:Teach Ivrit (Hebrew language) and Humash in the Lower SchoolDevelop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessonsFoster a classroom culture rooted in respect, inquiry, and joyful learningDifferentiate instruction to meet diverse student needsCollaborate closely with grade-level teams and the Judaic Studies departmentCommunicate effectively with students, colleagues, and familiesQualifications:Native Hebrew speaker (required)Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Judaic Studies, or a related fieldClassroom teaching experience (required)Strong classroom management and organizational skillsCommitment to teamwork and professional growthAbraham Joshua Heschel School, located in New York City, is an independent, pluralistic Jewish Day School, N-12, unaffiliated with any single movement or synagogue.
