The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B).Job SummaryElementary Education Adjunct Faculty assist with the instructional delivery of courses taken by program majors. Elementary Education adjunct faculty teach up to 6 hours [2 - 3hour courses] per semester. Typical courses focus on reading/literacy, classroom management, and math.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstruction in traditional and online formats.Assessment of student learning outcomes.Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsA doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education is required for teaching graduate level courses.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with all groups of individuals in a timely manner.Ability to work with a diverse team in diverse settings.Experience with online learning platforms.Experience setting clear performance expectations and provision of meaningful feedback.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated success in university teaching is preferred.About The University of Southern MississippiSince our founding in 1910, The University of Southern Mississippi has remained dedicated to preparing students for success.
