Adjunct faculty exist to teach and mentor students in academic disciplines. Adjunct faculty are expected to excel in classroom instruction and to fulfill various responsibilities related to their assigned teaching duties. Preference is given to applicants who have classroom experience, especially at the college level, and who can teach onsite day courses.Status: Part time/ExemptReports to: Arts and Sciences Department ChairPersonal Qualities:The desire to grow, develop, and mature, both spiritually and professionallyThe ability to create and maintain a Christian professional atmosphere in all internal and external relationshipsThe ability to articulate a philosophy of teaching from a biblical worldviewA spirit of cooperation and willingness to serve as a member of a teamA professional appearanceRole and Responsibilities:Establish and promote an effective learning environment that maximizes student learningUtilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelinesMeet with and support students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methodsProvide regular and timely feedback to studentsSubmit required college reports and forms in a timely mannerEducation and Experience:A minimum of a Master's degree in/related to the discipline from an accredited institutionHigher-education teaching experience preferred
