Job RequirementsPOSITION SUMMARYTo be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship to improve outcomes, to assure appropriate resource utilization, and continuity of care for individuals with altered skin integrity and other wound care issues. This includes coordinating the care and services for assigned patients in collaboration with the patient, family, physician, patient care team, and payers. This care is based upon cultural, spiritual, and age specific needs of the patient. Clinical skills will be utilized to facilitate the provision of care which includes the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care under the direct supervision of an R.N.PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITESAppropriately performs patient clinical intake, dressing application per physician orders, and discharge with accurate documentation of data under the supervision of the RN. Demonstrates a strong background in patient assessment, treatment, and support.Demonstrates effective communication with other members of the healthcare team and promotes effective team functioning.Remains flexible and adaptable to changes in workflow, patient census, staffing availability. Accepts changes to the schedule or workflow based on patient volumes.Empties dirty instruments per policy and prepares to send out for sterilization. Is responsible to assuring amount sent out is amount received. Follow through is there is a variance.Cleans exam rooms at end of day, empties all dirty linen and red bags per policy, and stocks with sufficient supplies, instruments, and paperwork. Rounds on all exam rooms for red sharp containers fullness or trash items and complies with Biohazardous regulations.Orders supplies sufficient for day-to-day operations. Rotates stock and supplies checking for expiration dates. Performs and organizes supplies and materials for the needs of the patient, procedure, and physician preference card in a cost-effective manner.Demonstrates effective time management skills. Provides patient, family, and/or care giver education as directed by the plan of care under the supervision of the RN.Provides patient follow up and education to ensure patient's participation in their care under the supervision of the RN.Work ExperienceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent.Work Experience: Two (2) years direct patient care experience required (Hospital, Urgent Care, Scrub Experience).Licensure: NoneCertification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:Good organization and communication skills.Ability to use and operate a computer.Ability to be a team player who shows flexibility.Ability to display and promote elements of good service.Ability to work independently in a high stress public contact environment.PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS* Work Experience: Prior experience in wound care.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSPhysically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently.May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead.May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise.May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines.Communicating with others to exchange information.Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.Workspace may vary from open to confined.May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.BenefitsABOUT HEALTH FIRSTAt Health First, diversity and inclusion are essential for our continued growth and evolution.
