Banquet Captain

The Colony Hotel, MaineWe are looking for a highly motivated Banquet Captain to join our team at The Colony Hotel in Maine. The role involves directing the set up and preparation of banquet rooms, serving and bussing tables, and overseeing all banquet food and beverage service.Your roleSet up for functions include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks and putting out table centerpieces.Serve by picking up food from the back hall, carrying trays to function location, serving food and clearing the tables.Break down duties include bussing tables, removing dirty linen and centerpieces, and vacuuming.Clean back hall and organize storerooms.Set up AM or PM break stations with coffee, tea, snacks, beverages.Assist with event room setup according to meal period and table needs.Prepare condiments, brew coffee, and maintain stocked workstations.Remove dishes, glasses, silverware, or other items from tables/counters and take them to the kitchen.Clean and sanitize tables, counters, and seats after guests finish.Explain menu items, cooking methods, and ingredients.Consider special requests and dietary issues from guests.Provide general property information and greet guests warmly.Interact professionally with staff, assisting other departments as needed.Ensure final quality check on food and beverage items prior to serving.Monitor guest satisfaction at assigned tables.Address guest issues promptly and with care.Aid other events and restaurant staff as needed.Maintain awareness of safety issues including broken glass, frayed cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons.What are we looking for2-4 years of food service experience, preferably banquet service.Experience in a 4-star or 5-star venue with synchronized service.Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Passion for creating an exceptional experience for guests.Excellent communication skills.Equal Opportunity StatementPyramid Global Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer.
