Research Technologist I
Position SummaryResearch position to complete work focused on chemical exposure impact on reproductive tissue function. This position requires good animal handling skills, and fine motor skills to complete the tissue preparation for organotypic culture studies. Molecular biology studies and data analysis skills will also be a significant part of this project.Minimum RequirementsBachelors in biology, physiology or related field. up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in basic research techniques in the specific or related field; word processing, spreadsheet; database and/or desktop publishing software; presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The job may require the appropriate pesticide applicator's registration/certification and/or experience working with potentially dangerous research animals.Desired QualificationsPrior experience in basic and translational research. Skilled working in groups and independently. Ideal candidate has experience working with human subjects (through research or hands on work as a nurse or similar), knowledge in neuroendocrinology, and reproductive physiology.Skilled and comfortable handling mice, collecting tissues and blood from mice. Preparing harvested tissues for further studies including immunohistochemistry, complete staining, competent using a microscope, analyze images, prepare figures.
