Respite Assistant- WEEKENDS

Respite Program Assistant Overall Description: The above staff are responsible for carrying out all program related responsibilities assigned by Program Director. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Support at all times all assigned program participants. · Ensure the safety of the participants. · Promote the DSP Core Competencies by using a person-centered approach · Implement effective instructional/prompting techniques with the participants as indicated by Supervisor and/or Program Director. · Follow individualized positive reinforcement plans as indicated by Supervisor and/or Program Director. · Ensure clock-in and clock-out times in Paychex are accurate and completed in a timely manner. · Sign all required staff sign-in time card sheets on same day that services are rendered. · Ensure intern sheet is signed by Supervisor and submitted to Program Director upon completion of hours. · Communicate any family/participant problems/concerns to Supervisor and/or Program Director. · Complete all occurrences (injuries) and reportable incident forms accurately and submit to Supervisor and/or Program Director in a timely manner. · Communicate any safety issues or concerns to Supervisor and/or Program Director. · Maintain an open and positive relationship with participants and family members to meet the needs of the participant. · Complete annual in-service training and other trainings as needed. · Complete all assignments as directed by Supervisor and/or Program Director. Minimum Requirements: · High School Student for Interns/Volunteers and High School Diploma/GED for Assistant. · Interest in pursuing ASD field · Pursuing a Graduate or Undergraduate degree in the field of human services a plus. · Some experience working with children. · Good communication skills. · High level of professionalism working with participants. · Maintain confidentiality. · Ability to adhere to scheduled dates/times. · Accuracy in completion of all required documents and electronic actions. · Display positive interaction with staff and participants. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred) Shift availability: Day Shift (Preferred) Night Shift (Preferred) Work Location: In person
