JOB SUMMARY
TheMaintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of all equipment, infrastructure, and building systems. This includes performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting across a range of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The role involves tasks such as carpentry, equipment assembly, general labor, and ensuring the facility remains compliant with safety and operational standards. The technician also plays a key role in responding to maintenance related emergencies, minimizing downtime, and supporting the cultivation and production teams by maintaining optimal facility conditions.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
Work involves daily exposure to allergens such as cannabis, tree nuts and coconut. Work can be stressful and may include dealing with deadlines, equipment failure, temporary power loss, cleaning solutions and the operation of equipment such as the floor scrubber as well as other stressful and distracting issues. Work involves a dynamic, hands-on environment where the Maintenance Technician may be required to work in various areas such as grow rooms, production areas, and warehouses. The role often includes exposure to temperature-controlled environments, humidity, and occasional use of chemicals related to pest control or cleaning. The job may require lifting heavy equipment, working in tight or elevated spaces, and handling power tools or machinery. Additionally, the technician must be prepared for flexible hours, including potential overtime or on-call work to address urgent repairs or maintenance needs. Safety protocols are crucial, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to facility standards.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
· All tasks assigned by management.
· Assist with carpentry projects, such as room conversions and construction of tables or platforms.
· Assemble and install new equipment.
· Assist Sanitation Technicians when needed.
· Dispose of trash as necessary.
· Identify and repair plumbing issues, including supply lines and drains.
· Maintain supplies and equipment for maintenance duties.
· Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or with hand trucks.
· Notify supervisors of major repairs or system upgrades needed.
· Report contamination, infestations, or mold to supervisors.
· Perform maintenance on cultivation and manufacturing equipment, including minor electrical work.
· Replace light fixtures, unclog pipes, and perform general repairs.
· Assist with pest management.
· Conduct preventative maintenance and inspection of facility equipment, including repair, overhaul, and reassembly.
· Remove snow from sidewalks and parking areas using snow blowers and shovels.
· Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.
· Monitor facility for wear or damage.
· Assist with building modifications and upgrades.
· Ensure compliance with safety protocols.
· Collaborate with cultivation and production teams.
· Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment updates.
· Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
· Safely operate power tools and machinery.
· Assist with landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks.
· Work additional hours as needed.
REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, stretch, stand, or walk for long periods.
· Must be able to endure extreme lighting conditions for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
· Must be able to sustain exposure to extreme noise for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to tolerate strong smells/odors for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to use scissors for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to withstand high heat and humidity for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to withstand coldness and dryness for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to work with marijuana plants for up to ten hours a day.
· Must be prepared to experience regular physical exposure to wet conditions.
· Must be able to use a computer and operate a radio.
· Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate trimmers, shears, instruments of measure, measuring cups, etc.
· The normal range of hearing & eyesight is required (can be corrected).
· Must possess the ability to operate at elevations of up to 20 feet in the air.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work
· Ability to operate power tools and machinery safely
· Knowledge of HVAC, lighting, and irrigation systems
· Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies

· Basic understanding of pest control and sanitation procedures
· Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
· Physical stamina and ability to work in varying environmental conditions
· Familiarity with reading blueprints or technical manuals
· Basic computer skills for logging maintenance activities and updates
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High School diploma or equivalent required.
· The pay grade is determined by experience, with a minimum of 1 year of prior maintenance experience required. Pay grades are categorized as follows: 1-3 years, 4-6 years, and 6+ years of experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
