Senior PostgreSQL & Java Engineer

Position: Senior PostgreSQL & Java EngineerLocation: RemoteDuration: 6 + Months (Extendable upto 2 years)W2 Employment onlyAbout the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with deep expertise in PostgreSQL and solid experience with Java (Spring Boot / Spring Batch). Key Responsibilities:Refactor and transition application data sources from existing DB2 setup to PostgreSQL.Develop and maintain batch processing jobs using Spring Batch or equivalent batch frameworks.Optimize database design, queries, and performance tuning in PostgreSQL.Lead data migration & transformation efforts, ensuring accuracy and integrity.Deploy solutions in containerized environments (Kubernetes / OpenShift).Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready changes before the deadline.Required Skills & Experience (7–10 years):Strong expertise in PostgreSQL (design, performance optimization, migration).Java Spring Boot and Spring Batch for enterprise application development.Strong SQL skills with prior DB2 experience.Knowledge of ETL processes and migration tools.Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift (OCP) deployments.Familiarity with cloud database services, especially Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL.
