We are a family owned and operated business and have been since 2014 when Patty Dunneback took the reins. She grew the business into the hustling truck stop that we know and love today. The company has expanded and opened doors to a second location in Coopersville, Michigan. The diners are nationally known and heavily recognized as the top diner in the state of Michigan. Who You Are:
76 Diner is seeking a talented, responsible, and experienced Line Cook. As a Line Cook, you will prepare menu dishes following established recipes and using designated ingredients that meet production and quality standards as part of the cooking line. This role follows all portion and presentation specifications and proper preparation methods. The Line Cook coordinates with other cooks to ensure meals are delivered consistently and on time. Additionally, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
Responsibilities:
Adheres to all recipes and prepares all dishes as directed by the Kitchen Playbook to ensure consistent plating, portioning, and quality
Prepares and cooks various items according to menus, special dietary or nutritional requirements, or the number of portions to be served
Bakes, grills, steams, and boils meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods
Executes opening and closing procedures
Follows expectations for food ticket comprehension and execution
Inventories supplies and equipment
Assists managers in determining meals, menus, and prices as well as daily specials
Maintains a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes
Responsible for operating and maintaining a single workstation.
Responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of a workspace and kitchen as a whole
Execute a daily prep list to fulfill the kitchen needs
Communicate with front of house employees, management and other kitchen staff
Job Requirements:
As a Line Cook, you must be dependable and passionate about good food and exceptional customer service. It is vital that you combine strong organizational and prioritization skills with a team-oriented attitude. The ability to provide guests with that extra personal touch is also a very important aspect of this role. Specific qualifications for the position include:
Job Type: Full-time Shift: 8 hour shift
Strong oral communication skills and teamwork is required
Must have Reliable transportation and are punctual
Ability to work with coworkers in a fast paced kitchen environment while multitasking
ServSafe Sanitation certification preferred
Restaurant Experience: 1 year preferred; willing to train
Ability to handle hot and cold work conditions during food preparation
Continuous reaching, bending, lifting, carrying
Ability to stand and be on foot for the majority of the scheduled shift
