Content Marketing ManagerAbout EdVoice and EdVoice InstituteTogether, EdVoice, a 501(c)(4) and its sister organization, EdVoice Institute, a 501(c)(3), drive scalable policy changes to reshape public education in California so that students from low-income communities have futures filled with opportunity. EdVoice Institute develops and advances evidence-based policy solutions to uplift student achievement alongside coalition partners. EdVoice then leads the lobbying and campaigns to get those policies passed. This dual approach is unique among education policy and advocacy groups in California and has already proven successful. Since relaunching in 2022, EdVoice has championed transformative early literacy policy changes that will improve reading outcomes for millions of students. In addition, both organizations have influenced legislation to place more qualified teachers in high-needs schools. Looking forward, EdVoice and EdVoice Institute will continue to push for an education system in which all children—regardless of background—have access to the quality education they need and future opportunities they deserve. The OpportunityEdVoice is seeking a strategic, creative, and results-driven Content Marketing Manager to lead and elevate the organization’s brand presence across digital platforms, events, and external engagements. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how a mission-driven organization communicates its impact at the intersection of public policy, advocacy, and education reform.Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications and partnering closely with senior leadership across departments, the Content Marketing Manager will support the planning and execution of EdVoice’s multi-channel marketing and communications strategy. The Content Marketing Manager will play a critical role in strengthening brand clarity and connection, expanding audience engagement, and elevating the organization’s visibility among donors, policymakers, partners, and supporters.This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and enjoys both big-picture strategy and hands-on execution. The right candidate will be a strong communicator, storyteller, and self-starter. They will be someone who can translate complex policy into clear, compelling narratives and visuals, maintain high standards for brand consistency, and proactively identify opportunities to expand reach and influence.The Content Marketing Manager will join a collaborative, high-performing team that values clarity, rigor, and mission alignment—and will have the opportunity to grow alongside an organization committed to driving meaningful change in education policy.Essential ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Communications Strategy (40%)Own and manage the organization-wide communications calendar, ensuring alignment across campaigns, events, development, and leadership prioritiesDevelop and execute social media strategy, including content creation, scheduling, community management, and performance reportingAnalyze engagement metrics across channels and provide insights to refine messaging and increase audience reach, activation, and community buildingCollaborate closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications to identify and develop engaging, educational, and community-building video content, storytelling concepts, and social media/email campaignsIdentify and analyze new channels of communication (e.g., Substack, BlueSky, podcasts, etc.)Support website content strategy and maintenance, including UX-informed page structure, copywriting, design assets, and backend updates to WordPressContent Creation & Brand Management (40%)Develop differentiated, branded materials across platforms, including digital graphics, collateral, and presentationsEnsure visual and messaging consistency across all communications in alignment with brand standardsOrganize and manage all brand assets in Google DriveCollaborate with external vendors or freelancers, as needed, for design and production supportOversee basic video content production (concepting, scripting, light editing, publishing) Events & Public Engagement (20%)Support marketing and communications for events, including promotional planning, collateral development, social amplification, content capturing, and post-event follow-upCoordinate preparation and logistics for speakersAttend and support select events (including evenings and weekends), as neededProactively identify opportunities to increase brand awareness and thought leadership through partnerships, events, speaking engagements, and digital campaignsIdeal Candidate Profile4+ years of experience in marketing, communications, digital media, public affairs, or a related fieldStrong writer and storyteller able to translate complex policy or advocacy work into clear, compelling, audience-focused messagingExperience managing social media strategy, including content planning and creation, publishing, performance tracking, and audience growthDemonstrated ability to manage a communications calendar and balance multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyProficiency in graphic design, presentation development, and video editing (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, Google Slides)Ability to develop branded materials and ensure consistency in tone, voice, and visual identity across platformsData-informed mindset with experience analyzing communications metrics and adjusting strategy accordinglyExperience supporting or leading event promotion and communicationsStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality external communicationsCollaborative, proactive self-starter comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environmentProficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, WordPress, social media platforms, and email marketing tools; CRM experience a plusA pulse on latest social media trends and outletsBachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience requiredCompensation and BenefitsThe compensation range is $70 - 80k, commensurate with experience.
