The Ankura-McLarty combination delivers comprehensive solutions to handle disputes, navigate distress, manage risk, address financial and operational challenges, and execute programs that resolve policy, regulatory, government, and diplomatic issues that companies face anywhere in the world.Position Summary:McLarty Associates is seeking a motivated, resourceful, highly organized individual for a full-time, Associate position to support one of the firm's Senior Managing Directors.Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Conducting research and analysis of economic, political, trade, technology, public policy, international, financial, and business issues* Providing administrative support to the Senior Managing Director (coordinating and maintaining schedules, completing expense reports, event planning, making travel arrangements, etc.);* Monitoring news outlets for relevant energy/critical minerals policy developments* Compiling biographies, preparing presentations and client deliverables;* Assisting firm-wide communications and collaborations;* Attending and reporting on speeches, panel discussions, and policy forums of interest to the firm and clients;* Other duties as assigned.Ideal candidates for this position possess a broad understanding of international politics, economics, trade, technology, government relations, business, and entrepreneurship.Qualifications:* Undergraduate degree in international relations, political science, international business or related field. Graduate degree a plus.* Experience and/or interest in energy policy and critical minerals.* This position will have a particular focus around issues of traditional energy including oil, gas and LNG markets, so experience and interests in those areas is especially valuable.* Proficiency in one or more foreign languages is preferred* Please note that this role requires permanent authorization to work in the U.S. (i.e. U.S. citizen or permanent resident).We are seeking individuals who are:* Exceptionally organized with an independent and creative nature;* Inclined to take initiative and anticipate the needs of the Senior Managing Director and the team* Attentive to details* Able to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner;* Able to manage and adapt to changing priorities, to remain poised under pressure, and to juggle multiple projects at a time;* Able to operate in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, mature judgment, and confidentiality;* Skilled communicators;* Strong critical thinkers;* Strong researchers and writers;* Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and other business applications and media platforms.Interested applicants must submit an application that includes:* Cover letter highlighting relevant experience and skills;* Resume; and* Short writing sample (no more than 3 pages) demonstrating strong research and concise writing on issues related to international politics, political economy, or energy.For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, DC, McLarty Associates is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the said market and considers a broad range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The range does not include additional benefits outside of salary. At McLarty Associates, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $66,000 to $85,000; this range is not a promise of a particular wage.McLarty offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, with the option for supplemental health plans like critical illness and hospital care insurance.
