EHS Manager

Overview As EHS Manager, you will lead environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance for our Los Angeles manufacturing site. You will partner with plant leadership to drive a proactive safety culture and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. You will manage investigations, regulatory interactions, audits, training, and continuous improvement to reduce risk and strengthen environmental stewardship. Your hands-on leadership and regulatory expertise will support operational excellence and a strengthened safety program across the site. This role offers visibility and the chance to shape EHS strategy in a manufacturing environment. ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute site EHS strategy aligned with Crane Company standardsFoster proactive safety culture through engagement, coaching, observations, training, and continuous improvementAdvise site leadership on EHS risks, compliance, and best practicesEnsure compliance with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, EPA, DTSC, SCAQMD, SWRCB and local requirementsServe as primary contact during regulatory inspections, audits, investigations, and agency inquiriesMaintain permits, reporting obligations, environmental records, and compliance documentationMonitor regulatory developments and implement compliance changesLead investigations of injuries, environmental incidents, near misses, and regulatory findingsPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actionsConduct risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, JHA, and exposure assessmentsDevelop and deliver EHS training programsMaintain emergency response, evacuation, spill response, and business continuity programsCoordinate emergency drills and lead during crisis eventsEstablish and monitor EHS metrics (TRIR, DART, near miss reporting, observations, CAPA closure, environmental KPIs)Lead environmental and safety audits and support ISO 14001/ISO 45001 certificationsPrepare monthly EHS reports and identify improvement initiatives and capital investments Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Public Health, or related fieldMinimum 7 years of EHS experience with at least 3 years in manufacturingExperience managing environmental compliance programs, occupational safety programs, regulatory audits, and permittingExperience leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPAStrong knowledge of Cal/OSHA, OSHA, EPA, hazardous waste regulations, permits, and emergency preparednessProven ability to build safety culture through employee engagement and continuous improvementStrong project management, communication, and presentation skillsProfessional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, REHS or equivalent are strongly preferredExperience supporting ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is preferredExperience interacting with regulatory agencies and managing consultants preferredleadershipemployee engagementcoachingCal/OSHA and OSHA regulatory knowledgeEPA and hazardous waste regulationsenvironmental permitting and reporting
