Paralegal - Labor and Employment

Reporting to the Senior Practice Support Manager, the Paralegal will work directly with partners, associates, and other paralegals. This position will also play a critical role in legal research, document preparation, case and project management, client communication, mediation/arbitration/trial pre and post preparation, and overall team coordination.This position will reside in our Philadelphia office and offers a flexible, hybrid in-office/remote working arrangement which allows for you to work 2 days remotely and 3 days collaboratively in the office.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablishes, organizes, and maintains case and client filesServes as a liaison between the client and the firm to strengthen client relationshipsCollects, organizes, and maintains essential data and fact discovery used to influence attorney strategyEnhances communication with client, increases efficiency, and builds trust with internal/external clientsResponsible for document and database maintenance and data analysisAssists staff and attorney stakeholders to scope, plan, and manage medium to high complexity projects on a global scaleAssists with service of discovery requests and document productionsAssists with drafting, proofreading, editing, and filing court filings, briefings, and supporting exhibitsParticipates in fact investigation, witness interviews, and research into publicly available documentsFact-checks, Cite-checks and Bluebooks briefs, memoranda, expert reports, etcCreates Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents for court briefingsCoordinates all events/deadlines with the Firm’s Litigation Docketing DepartmentTracks and communicates case-related deadlines and informationAssists with deposition/discovery logistics and preparationAssists with witness preparation, creation of direct- and cross-examination compendiaAssists with pretrial submissions including exhibit lists, deposition designations, and trial briefsAssists with trial logistics, electronic courtroom set up, and demonstrativesAttends trial and provides trial assistance to case team including exhibit logging/trackingSupports the development and management of case matters and practice group timelinesPerforms other duties as assignedExperience And QualificationsBachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year college or universityMinimum 2 – 4 years of administrative and legal support experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Fact research skills, preferred.Prior experience in a law firm, legal, or other client service environment, is highly desired.Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Portable Document Format (PDF) software.Familiarity with iManage, Adobe PDFExperience with computer aided software (CAD) Strong technical background.Excellent written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work autonomously while also functioning effectively in a team environment.Ability to pivot and adapt to change and balance competing demands.Understanding of litigation support systems including, WestLaw, WestLaw Case Notebook, Lexis/Nexis, and Relativity, strongly desired.Interest in pursuing/continuing in a career within the legal and/or business community.
