Low Voltage Technician
Compensation: $25-$35/Hourly
Job Overview: To execute APIC Solutions Operational and Business Development strategies in order to develop customer relationships across all divisions and services. APIC Solutions is looking for driven and passionate Low Voltage, Special Systems, Security and Life Safety Systems, and Voice/Data Technicians. This role focuses on daily field operations, ensuring quality installations, reliable system performance, and excellent customer service.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including:
Structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic)
Security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion)
Audio/visual and communication systems
Nurse call, paging, and intercom systems
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications
Perform system testing, commissioning, and documentation
Diagnose and repair system malfunctions efficiently
Ensure installations comply with NEC, local codes, and manufacturer requirements
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades
Mentor and supervise apprentices or helpers as needed
Maintain accurate job records, redline, and service reports
Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Maintain tools, test equipment, and company vehicles in good working order

Minimum 4 years of experience installing low voltage special systems and/or data infrastructure for medium and large commercial projects (REQUIRED!)
Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and vehicle liability insurance
Understanding of basic customer relationship management
Have good working knowledge of low voltage special systems and data infrastructure installation practices
Excellent writing and presentation skills.
Low Voltage Journeyman License (ES3J/7)
Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance appropriate for the position
Must be detail oriented, have multitasking abilities, handle tight, time-sensitive deadlines
Travel Required
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Strong interpersonal & time management skills
Strong technical knowledge to include industry code requirements
Must be creative and able to offer suggestions on how to achieve desired results
