Our vison statement: “Be Yourself, Succeed Together” and our core value of Openness underline our desire for a culture which is open and transparent and values difference, enabling everyone to consistently achieve whilst being themselves.Division SummaryThe Risk division encompasses the Credit Risk, Country Risk, Operational Risk, Physical Commodities Risk Assurance, Business Continuity Management and Market Risk disciplines.Credit Risk consists of the rating and analysis, ongoing monitoring and reporting of the Bank’s credit exposures to International Corporate, Sovereign and Financial Institution clients.Your RoleThe Credit Team is responsible for providing management and analytical and risk management support for the Bank’s Global Markets activities, including Emerging Markets (“EM”) trading, commodities and structured financing.The role is responsible for forming, articulating and recommending credit views on counterparties, transactions and structures, while ensuring risks are appropriately identified, mitigated and escalated.The position acts as a trusted credit partner to front‑office teams, balancing commercial objectives with sound risk discipline and representing Credit in internal risk forums.Key Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesEvaluation and Approval of Credit Applications:Assess and articulate credit risk for a defined portfolio of Commodities and/or Fixed Income & Credit (“FIC”) counterparties.Prepare, own and recommend credit applications for new transactions, amendments and annual reviews, including clear credit rationale and risk mitigantsForm independent views on counterparty business models, sector dynamics and structural risks through financial analysis and research, and challenge assumptions where appropriate.Recommend credit limits, tenors, structures and conditions in line with risk appetite.Support senior credit officers on more complex, higher‑risk or strategically significant transactions outside the core portfolio, including structured and bespoke financings.Act as a trusted credit partner to Trading and Client Coverage, providing timely, commercial and risk‑aware input on transactions, limits and structures.Proactively engage with front‑office teams to shape deal structures and mitigate risk at origination.Represent and defend credit recommendations in Credit Committee and other risk forums, responding to challenge and ensuring decisions are well-reasoned and documented.On-going Credit Management:Own the ongoing credit risk assessment for a portfolio including credit limits, exposures and covenant compliance, and early identification of emerging risks.Determine when credit issues require escalation, remediation or restructuring.Drive amendments, reviews or risk actions in response to changes in credit quality or market conditions.Other:Lead or drive targeted initiatives to improve credit processes, portfolio risk management, data quality or risk reporting.Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior credit analysts, supporting development of credit judgement and best practiceYour Knowledge, Skills and Experience3-5+ years’ experience in credit risk, covering market‑facing businesses such as commodities, EM, structured finance or trading counterparties.Demonstrated experience forming and defending independent credit recommendations.Strong understanding of transaction structures, documentation (e.g. LMA / ISDA) and credit risk mitigants.Ability to balance commercial considerations with disciplined risk judgement under time pressure.Fluent English required; Spanish and/or Portuguese desirable but not essential.What we are looking forSound, independent credit judgement and confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively.Credibility with Trading and Client Coverage as a risk partner, not just a control function.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to defend recommendations in senior forums.High level of integrity, accountability and ownership of outcomes.
