Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.POSITION SUMMARY: Help lead all construction safety programs, protocols, andcompliance initiatives for the AMS Compounding Expansion Project based in Hebron, Newark, Ohio. Ensure zero-incident construction execution through proactive safety leadership, effective contractor management, and continuous improvement of safety systems and safety culture.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Safety Leadership & Program Management:Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive construction safety managementsystems for CAPEX projectsLead safety risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation planning forconstruction activitiesEstablish and monitor safety KPIs, incident reporting protocols, and corrective actionprogramsConduct regular safety audits, inspections, and compliance verification across allconstruction sitesContractor Safety Management:Qualify, evaluate, and monitor third-party contractor safety performance and complianceDevelop contractor safety requirements, pre-qualification criteria, and ongoing assessmentprotocolsLead contractor safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety orientation programsManage contractor incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actionimplementationRegulatory Compliance & Standards:Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory safety requirementsMaintain current knowledge of evolving safety regulations and industry best practicesDevelop and update construction safety standards, procedures, and work instructionsInterface with regulatory agencies during inspections and compliance reviewsTraining & Culture Development:Design and deliver construction safety training programs for internal teams and contractorsPromote safety culture through leadership engagement, communication, and recognitionprogramsDevelop safety competency requirements and certification programs for constructionpersonnelLead safety awareness campaigns and continuous improvement initiativesIncident Management & Investigation:Lead comprehensive incident investigation processes including root cause analysisCoordinate emergency response procedures and crisis management protocolsImplement corrective actions and lessons learned across the organizationREPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:Reports to: Construction Management LeadMatrix Relationships: Construction Managers, Project Managers, Site Operations, HSEpersonnelExternal Interfaces: ContractorsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, an Engineering discipline, or related field5+ years progressive experience in construction managementKnowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards and EPA regulationsExperience with capital project construction safety managementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Chemical industry construction safety experienceSix Sigma or Lean certificationExperience with international safety standards and practicesCORE COMPETENCIES:Safety Leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence safety culture and drive behavioralchangeRisk Management: Advanced skills in hazard identification, risk assessment, andmitigation planningCommunication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for all organizationallevelsProblem Solving: Strong analytical and investigative skills for incident analysis andpreventionProject Management: Ability to manage multiple safety initiatives simultaneouslyRegulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction safety regulations andcompliance requirementsPERFORMANCE METRICS:Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and Lost Time Incident Rate (LTIR)Contractor safety performance scores and compliance ratingsSafety audit findings and corrective action closure ratesTraining completion rates and safety competency assessmentsRegulatory compliance scores and inspection resultsBelcan is an equal opportunity employer.
