Position: Activity Advisor - Twirling AdvisorDepartment: Building LevelReports to: Building PrincipalGeneral Description:To enrich the students school spirit, to make him/her have a sense of pride in the school.To foster morale, teach leadership and keep it all in the name of discipline and respect.Essential Functions:Ensure safety of studentsPromote good public relations by personnel appearance, attitude and conversationInteract with superintendent and/or board of education, supervisors and present information as requestedInteract in a positive manner with staff, students and parentsMaintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g. student records,Attend meetings and in-services as requiredServe as a role model for studentsDevise, implement and engage in fund raising activitiesRespond to routine questions and requests in a timely, appropriate mannerPerform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designeeAssist with events related to organization, e.g. pep assemblies, bonfires, raffles,Attend and supervise events in which activity participatesMake contacts with the public with tact and diplomacyPlan and coordinate special activities and eventsCoordinate activities with other groups, events and/or fund raising projectsQualifications:High school diplomaLess than one year related experienceSuch alternative to the above qualifications as superintendent and/or board of education may find appropriateRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to work effectively with othersAbility to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writingEffective, active listening skillsOrganizational and problem solving skillsAdditional Working Conditions:Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissueOccasional interaction with unruly studentsOccasion requirement to sit, stand, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, balance, climb,Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items up to a maximum of 20 lbs. poundsOccasional evening /weekend/summer workOccasional travel, e.g., attending matchesOccasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions, i.e., being prepared to work on all scheduled school days, except calamity daysOccasion repetitive hand motion, e.g., computer keyboard, writingFrequent requirement to walk, stoop, kneel, read and hearAll duties and behavior will be conducted morally and ethically.
