Precision CNC Turning Machinist

Build mission-critical parts that matterAt The Entwistle Company, you’ll turn raw stock into precision components that support U.S. and allied defense programs across air, land, sea, and space. Your craftsmanship directly contributes to national and global security. We foster talent, celebrate innovation, and invest in your growth—all within a collaborative shop culture grounded in Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Commitment.A day in the lifeYou arrive to a clean, organized cell, review a traveler for a large turning job, and plan your setup. You mount workholding, pick tooling, write or edit code at the control, and take that first careful cut. Using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators, you verify dimensions and refine offsets—chasing tight tolerances on castings, forgings, plates, and bars. As the part finishes, you check critical features, document results, and move seamlessly to the next build, knowing the components you made will be used in defense systems worldwide. What you’ll tackleRun engine and large lathes to machine diverse, complex parts from castings, forgings, plates, bars, and custom workpieces.Execute precision turning on large components to exact dimensions and tight tolerances.Program and edit at the CNC control to drive accuracy and throughput.Inspect parts with precision tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) to ensure quality standards are met. What you’ll bring3–5 years of hands-on machining experience or equivalent technical training.3–5 years setting up both CNC and manual lathes.Programming experience preferred.Consistent, high-quality output in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.Strong problem-solving ability and a collaborative, team-first mindset.Tools of the tradeEquipment TroubleshootingCNC ToolingTroubleshooting SkillsCNC ProgrammingCNC Machine RepairCNC Machine InstallationG-CodeM-CodeCNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverMachine Setups for Production RunsManual Machining SkillsEquipment you’ll operateCNC Lathe (2–4 axis) — Mazak, Okuma, Doosan, Hyundai‑WiaOur mission in actionBe the trusted source for mission-critical defense components & systems—across air, land, sea, and space—recognized for specialized capabilities, quality, and reliability.Design, manufacture, and build-to-print products that are innovative and cost-effective.Enable DoD, Prime, and Foreign Military customers—and the U.S. warfighter—to achieve mission success.Rewards & benefits401(k): 4% match on 5% deferralsPTO: up to 5 weeksEmployer-paid life insuranceEmployer-paid short-term coverageEmployer-provided paid family/medical leaveComprehensive health insuranceDental and vision insuranceSafety shoe & safety glasses reimbursementsEmployee appreciation eventsCompetitive Pay Based On Experience.Military experience welcomeWe value transferable skills from military service.
