Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Engineer/ Silicon Validation EngineerDuration: 1 year contract Job Duties:This position is responsible for leading the development and execution of electrical validation test plans for SERDES interfaces for high-performance CPUs and add-in cards. Key responsibilities include:Perform debug of failing test plans and/or SERDES interfaces.Bring up and adjust SERDES parameters for optimal link performance.Deliver regular status updates via PowerPoint or similar tools.Analyze test results and determine next steps for validation/experimentation.Operate high-speed oscilloscopes and related equipment to measure and test high-speed ASIC I/O.Execute and/or supervise the execution of I/O characterization test plans.Develop and debug automation for benchtop test flows.Develop and analyze scripts in Python or a similar language to facilitate and automate test sequences.Develop and debug firmware in an embedded environment.Experience and EducationEducation: Bachelor’s in electrical engineering with 6+ years of experience, or Master’s in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of experience.Laboratory Experience: Extensive experience with signal integrity concepts and best practices, including ISI, jitter, eye diagrams, transmission line theory, and high-speed digital oscilloscope usage.Specific Knowledge: Electrical layer analysis for high-speed Ethernet and/or PCI Express is a plus.Programming Languages: Moderate proficiency in C, C++, or Python.Lab Environment: Experience working in a benchtop lab environment.Leadership: Experience in an engineering leadership position.Collaboration: Ability to work cross-organizationally and collaborate effectively.
