Store Manager

Stella’s Ice Cream is a small‑batch, handmade ice cream shop rooted in community, quality, and meaningful employee engagement. We are hiring a Store Manager to lead daily operations, develop our team, and set the tone for a positive, high‑performing workplace. This is a hands‑on leadership role that works alongside the team while driving consistency, culture, and operational excellence. What You’ll Do Team Leadership & Development Lead hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing staff development Train and mentor team members to uphold Stella’s standards Foster a positive, accountable, team‑oriented culture Communicate effectively with employees and the corporate team Store Operations Create and manage staff schedules and labor Oversee time‑off requests and shift coverage Maintain high product quality and food safety standards Conduct weekly inventory and complete weekly metrics reporting Lead monthly manager and staff meetings Customer & Community Engagement Promote a welcoming, community‑focused environment Lead local marketing initiatives and community outreach Execute store‑level strategic goals Hands‑On Leadership Work alongside the team: scooping, baking, cleaning, customer service Handle bank deposits and after‑hours emergencies Schedule & Expectations Minimum 30 hours per week; 5 days per week in‑store (typically opening shifts) One weekend pre‑close or close per week during peak season (May–Sept) Two pre‑close or close shifts per month during off‑season (Oct–Apr) Flexible availability: nights, weekends, holidays, emergency coverage Strong communication and accountability required What We’re Looking For 1+ years of team management experience in retail or food service Ice cream or baking experience preferred Food service leadership experience preferred Ability to handle after‑hours emergencies Full‑time availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay Merit‑based raises Free ice cream Who Thrives Here Stella’s is fun, team‑oriented, and community‑driven, but fast‑paced and high‑pressure during peak seasons.
