Associate Data Engineer

Position OverviewThe Leading Hotels of the World is seeking an Associate Data Engineer as part of the next phase of our data transformation. The Associate Data Engineer supports the development and maintenance of LHW’s data infrastructure, ensuring reliable and accessible data for analytics and reporting. This role will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to build and maintain data pipelines, contribute to data modeling, and support data quality initiatives.This is a strong opportunity for someone with early professional experience to deepen their technical expertise while taking on greater ownership of data engineering workflows. The role partners with Business Solutions, Business Intelligence, and Customer Insights teams to deliver high-quality data solutions and contribute to evolving DataOps practices.This is a full-time position located in New York City. We offer flexible workplace policies that allow for working remotely 3 days a week and require being in our NYC office 2 days a week (Wednesdays and Thursdays).Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and deliveryDevelop and maintain data models to support reporting and analytics use casesMonitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability, performance, and accuracyImplement and support data quality checks, validation processes, and governance practicesWrite efficient, scalable SQL queries and contribute to performance optimizationCollaborate with Business Intelligence and Customer Insights teams to deliver timely, accurate data solutionsDocument data architecture, pipelines, and workflows with a focus on clarity and maintainabilityContribute to improving data engineering standards, best practices, and DataOps processesSupport onboarding of new data sources and assist in evaluating new tools and technologiesQualifications And SkillsBachelor’s degree (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field2–4 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related technical roleStrong proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Python (or similar language)Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and data warehousing conceptsHands-on experience with at least one modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, dbt, Airflow)Experience debugging data issues and working with production data pipelinesStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to manage tasks independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentClear communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teamsAbility to demonstrate LHW’s performance drivers (Accountability, Adaptability, Collaboration, Curiosity, and Empathy)CompensationAnnualized Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000Target Annual Incentive bonus: 10%Actual base salary within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and location.BenefitsThe Leading Hotels of the World fosters a high-performance culture and generously rewards its employees for their contributions.
