EHR Communications Consultant
We are seeking an experienced EHR Communications Consultant to support a major electronic health record (EHR) implementation. This role is ideal for a communications professional with direct experience leading change management communications during healthcare technology transitions.The consultant will own communications strategy and execution for two key audiences: one internal, and one external. Success in this role requires the ability to translate complex workflow and system changes into clear, actionable messaging that supports adoption, minimizes confusion, and maintains trust throughout go-live.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and lead a communications plan aligned to all phases of EHR go-live, including pre-implementation, activation, and stabilizationCreate targeted internal communications for clinicians, operations teams, and shared services groupsManage a communications calendar across channels such as email, intranet, newsletters, and live meetingsPartner with clinical, operational, and technology leaders to ensure communications are accurate and alignedDevelop FAQs, leadership talking points, toolkits, and resistance-management messagingCreate patient-facing communications related to scheduling, portal access, medical records, billing, and continuity of careWrite content for patient and internal audiences across portals, websites, newsletters, on-hold messaging, and other channelsCoordinate messaging across operations, marketing, customer care, legal, compliance, and executive stakeholdersTrack communication effectiveness and provide updates on progress, risks, and stakeholder sentimentSupport post-go-live communications planning and transitionQualifications6–10 years of healthcare communications experienceExperience supporting at least 2 full-cycle EHR implementations, such as Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, MEDITECH, athenahealth, or similar platformsProven experience creating both internal change management communications and patient-facing communications during EHR transitionsExcellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical and workflow changes for varied audiencesExperience managing multi-channel communications campaigns in healthcare environmentsStrong project management and stakeholder collaboration skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, high-visibility environmentBachelor’s degree requiredWriting samples or portfolio may be requestedEngagement DetailsDuration: Approximately 8 monthsSchedule: Full-time hours during peak project phases; flexibility during planning periodsLocation: Fully remoteType: Contract / ConsultantDISCLAIMER: Our specialized recruiting professionals apply their expertise and utilize our proprietary AI to find you great job matches faster.
