Development Manager

Vanguard Renewables is the premier anaerobic digester developer/owner/operator in the United States. Our closed-loop anaerobic digestion process converts organic waste and cow manure into green electricity or renewable natural gas as well as other related “value-added” products. Our head office is in Weston Massachusetts, and we are funded by institutional capital partners. We currently have over twenty projects in development operating in over thirteen States. We have a plan to continue to aggressively expand into other domestic markets.Vanguard Renewables seeks a Development Manager to be a leader in several states or metropolitan areas executing projects from siting through to construction completion.ResponsibilitiesManage development of assigned projects and related functions and activities, including but not limited to:Oversight of initial due diligence and feasibility tasks performed by the Development Associate(s)Manage permitting and zoning with hired consultants and local and state regulatory bodiesNegotiating of contracts with clients and vendorsInterdepartmental coordination of engineering, design and construction related needs for the projectsMaintaining consistent communication with multiple clients and vendorsSupport, mentor, and manage assigned Development Associate(s)Ensure project activities comply and are consistent with company and contractual requirementsRepresent company, project and/or department during investor, client, and project management meetingsCoordinate with financial analyst team to provide project information to develop accurate financial models for each projectInterface with all company departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of projects, and maintain project scheduleOther duties may be required, and frequent travel is requiredSkills And QualificationsHas supported the development of RNG projects in the pastHas experience in managing multiple projects at a timeHas experience in environmental permitting requirementsBA/BS degree required5-10 years’ experienceAbility to travel 50% or more of the timeExperience in negotiating feedstock or gas offtake agreements is a plusCan support in the logistics of getting agreements signed and through completion. Experienced in creating/overseeing lifecycle assessment models for projects to analyze feasibility of the projectCan manage and coordinate project budgets and schedules and can create weekly progress reports on each projectPreferred Qualifications:Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and excellent time management skillsStrong proficiency with Microsoft OfficeStrong written and verbal communication skillsTeam player with excellent interpersonal skillsSelf-motivatedStrong experience in design, engineering, permitting, financial analysis and project management preferredVanguard Renewables is an equal opportunity employer.
