Maintenance Technician Job DescriptionPosition Overview The Maintenance Technician completes services to keep equipment and our buildings running properly. The position will trouble shoot, diagnose and repair root cause issues. The Maintenance Technician supports production by performing both corrective and preventive maintenance tasks while maintaining a high level of safety and quality.Division: CommercialDepartment: MaintenanceReports to: Commercial Maintenance ManagerJob Type: Full-TimeFLSA: Non-ExemptShift: Night ShiftDuties And ResponsibilitiesPerform a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, machine servicing, electrical and mechanicsRespond to breakdown calls quicklyTrouble shoot, diagnose and repair the root cause issue making sure to fix it right the first timeLocate sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.Set and install new equipmentRelocate and remove equipment as requiredPerform preventive maintenance tasks as needed such as lubrication, cleaning and general inspections.Fabricate minimal changes to equipment for repairs or to enhance machine performanceManage time and resources and adapt to changing prioritiesPrompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.Interact with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.Confer and collaborate with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.Review and analyze data and information.Plan, prioritize and monitor maintenance activities.Complete assigned tasks or projects in a timely manner.Supervisory ResponsibilityNo direct management or supervisory responsibilities.SafetyObserve safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment including but not limited to eye and toe protection; report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly. Follow job-specific safety requirements such as Lock Out Tag Out, Ladder Safety and Power or Manual Tool Safety. The position will also use Safe Lift and Scaffold Safety and follow all safe driving laws.TravelMinimal travel between the Quaker campuses may be required.QualificationsAn individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
