Administrator On Grounds

Description: The Administrator-On-Grounds is responsible for ensuring that each person residing on or adjacent to the Somers campus is able to live life to the fullest, with quality person-centered care and services appropriate to their needs. The Administrator-On-Grounds may also be assigned special tasks and projects as needed. The Administrator-On-Grounds supports day-to-day operations by providing guidance and role modeling to staff engaged with the people receiving support, inspiring a positive, collaborative and inclusive team environment, and facilitating the implementation of person-centered planning. Schedule Hours: Monday to Friday, 40-hour work week. Shift: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Essential Job Functions Care Oversight: Facilitates that people receiving support receive appropriate care, qualitative programming, and adequate health and medical attention as necessary. Emergency Response: Responds to emergency and crisis situations, including non-routine medical and behavioral events. Staff Mentorship: Responsible for reinforcing training, providing support and role modeling, and when necessary, directing employees engaged with residents and program participants. Compliance Training: Facilitates real-time training and supports ongoing training that ensures staff are knowledgeable in compliance requirements and health and safety issues. Coordination: Assists in the coordination of services provided to people receiving support. Certifications: Remains in good standing as a SCIP-R instructor and CPR/First Aid instructor; remains AMAP and G-Tube certified. Instruction: Implements agency training modules, including driver safety training, as needed. Communication: Interacts with visitors as needed and attends assigned meetings. Reporting: Reports any immediate issues, concerns, or significant observations to the Director of Residential Operations or Chief Operating Officer. Safety & Regulation: Adheres to and facilitates conformity with federal, state, and local governmental regulatory guidelines pertaining to a safe, healthy, and clean work environment. On-Call Duties: Participates in the Administrator-On-Call rotation. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in the field of Human Services preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years working with the I/DD population; training experience preferred. Certifications: * Must be (or be eligible to become) a SCIP-R Trainer and a CPR/First Aid Instructor. Must be (or be eligible to become) AMAP and G-Tube certified. Licensing: Must have a valid driver’s license. Skills: Effective interpersonal skills to support training effectiveness; strong writing skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records platforms (e.g., Precision Care). Discretion: Ability to remain objective, properly retain and disseminate information across different staffing levels, and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive matters. Physical Requirements This is a non-sedentary role requiring frequent periods of standing and walking. Ability to lift 50 or more pounds. Physical ability to turn, lift, and assist people receiving services with movement.
