The Job You Will Perform
The SafeAlign Leadership Coach is a full-time, field-based role responsible for delivering SafeAlign leadership development training to facility leaders across International Paper. This role is critical to building strong, consistent safety leadership capability at the site level and directly supports the Safety Excellence journey.
The SafeAlign Leadership Coach serves as the face of the training effort in the field, facilitating classroom sessions, reinforcing learning through in-field application, and partnering with facility leaders to embed SafeAlign actions into day-to-day work. This role requires extensive travel, approximately 90 percent, and close collaboration with the Safety Excellence Project Management Office (PMO), Health and Safety leaders, and site leadership teams.

Training Delivery and Facilitation
Deliver SafeAlign learning modules to managers and supervisors across Packaging Solutions North America facilities, including but not limited to

Controlling Brain Centered Hazards
Facilitate engaging, discussion-based classroom sessions that connect SafeAlign concepts to real work and real exposure.
Adapt delivery to meet site needs while maintaining consistency with approved SafeAlign content and intent.
Ensure high-quality, consistent training execution across all locations.
In-Field Reinforcement and Coaching
Support leaders in applying SafeAlign concepts in the field, reinforcing learning beyond the classroom.
Observe leadership behaviors where appropriate and provide practical, constructive feedback aligned with SafeAlign expectations.
Model strong safety leadership behaviors, curiosity, and credibility in every interaction.
Partnership with Facility Leaders
Build strong working relationships with facility leadership teams to support the SafeAlign process.
Support leaders in understanding their role in cascading and reinforcing SafeAlign actions with their teams.
Program Coordination and Feedback
Coordinate closely with the Safety Excellence PMO on schedules, logistics, and training execution.
Provide timely feedback to the PMO and pillar leads on participant engagement, common challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Identify trends, barriers, or gaps observed in the field and elevate them for discussion and action.
Support continuous improvement of training delivery through lessons learned and field insights.
Alignment and Governance
Ensure all training delivery aligns with International Paper's Safety Excellence strategy, cultural attributes, and leadership expectations.
Adhere to all intellectual property, confidentiality, and delivery standards associated with SafeAlign content.
Represent Safety Excellence professionally and consistently across all locations.
The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:
Travel required approximately 90 percent, primarily domestic, including frequent multi-day site visits plus ability to work flexible hours to align with site schedules and training needs
Bachelor degree preferred, or equal and relevant experience required.
10 plus years of experience in safety, operations, HR, or organizational transformation
Demonstrated experience facilitating adult learning or leadership development programs
Strong project management capability coordinating large scale workstreams
High credibility with frontline leaders, supervisors, and managers
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder influence skills
Ability to connect concepts to real-world work and exposure
Strong organizational skills and comfort working in a highly mobile, field-based role
