Control Systems Engineer

Wright-Pierce, an award-winning, multi-discipline environmental engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure, is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our Topsham, Portland, ME, or Portsmouth, NH office. Responsibilities Evaluation and design of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems Development of process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) Select instruments necessary for equipment automation, and select appropriate instrument technology Design control system network architectures and interfaces Develop programmable logic controller (PLC) control narratives Review programming for water/wastewater treatment facilities Outline SCADA requirements and functionality Proactively connect with other disciplines to produce a fully coordinated project Develop conceptual and preliminary studies and reports Prepare specifications for bidding and construction Review contractor plans and shop submittals Conduct field visits to review contractor’s work and gain resolution of field-related problems Control system startup, testing, troubleshooting, and process optimization Essential Functions Possess excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal skills Effective time management skills and attention to detail Able to build strong relationships with coworkers Able to work efficiently and independently on multiple projects while meeting budgets and schedules Experience 4 years of prior related work experience required Experience in the Water/Wastewater industry preferred Proficient with MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, Teams and Bluebeam Experience using Revit or AutoCAD preferred Certification Must have EIT; Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Control System Engineer (CSE) preferred Education BS Degree in related Engineering field of study EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER At Wright-Pierce we are committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity and inclusion.
